Girl Scout Badges
Chancel Stables offers the Junior Horseback Riding Badge and the Brownie Fun with Horses Badge.
When are Troop Sessions held?
Girl Scout Troops are scheduled on Saturday 11-1 and Sunday from 11-1 and 2-4. Sessions must be scheduled in advance!
What Will scouts learn?
Brownies
While learning how to safely groom, ride and stable a horse, Brownies expand their knowledge and skills, set goals for themselves, and take appropriate risks.
Juniors
Find out about horse behavior and riding basics.

When you’ve earned this badge, you’ll know what it takes to be a good rider—from understanding horse body language to controlling the horse’s speed while you’re riding.
Should troops sign up for lessons?
Horseback riding and horse care take time and practice to learn. We suggest continuing all troops educations with lessons after their first visit!
